WALT: Use expanded noun phrases. 

Building on yesterday's work, we would like for you to write your own biology for a Pokémon. Choose from one of the Pokémon below and write a description of them using some wonderful expanded noun phrases!

Guided Reading: 

Spend 30 minutes on Reading Plus. Try to complete at least 2 reading lessons!

WALT: Think about secrets and safety 

Begin by considering these statements. Do you think they are a secret, a surprise or you're not sure: 

  1. Your best friend has taken a pencil from school and tells you not to tell anyone.
  2. Your family are planning to take you to the cinema but haven’t told you yet.
  3. Your best friend is scared of spiders and asks you not to tell anyone because they don’t want to be teased.
Now think about these questions: 

  • What is a surprise?
  • What is a secret?
  • Are all surprises secrets?
  • Are all secrets surprises?
Secrets can make us feel safe and happy or unsafe and uncomfortable. Read this story and think about the secrets in it. How do you think Harold is feeling? 

Now think about these scenarios and write down how they would make you feel and what you would do about it. 

Finally, I would like you to think about people who you can trust. Make a list of people you can trust if you are feeling unhappy or unsafe. Make sure you talk to these people whenever you are feeling low. 


History 

WALT: know how mummies were made 

Begin by looking through this PowerPoint about mummies! 

Next I would like you to use this sheet. All the steps for making a mummy are jumbled up! Can you sort them into the right order? Check with the PowerPoint again to see if you were right! 

Finally, I would like for you to write a message to leave in a canopic jar. 

Your task is to explain to people of the future just how and why mummies were made! Use the 1 or 2 star sheet using this link. Remember to explain all the steps in order!

James did a great Pointillist painting of a 'Dino Piggy'! I love the imagination behind this picture James and good choice of colours!  Great job! Ted has been working  hard during Home Learning. I am so impressed with this Anglo-Saxon settlement! What a fantastic job!  I also really like  how creative your model of the Water Cycle is with the hanging sun and clouds! Well done Ted.  James has been working hard researching Anglo-Saxons and his cat Marli was keen to find out more too! I'm so glad you're enjoying this topic James and Marli, well done for remembering all 7 kingdoms too. Great job! Ed has been doing a brilliant job helping out at home! Well done for making your bed and doing the washing Ed! Super helper! Charlie did an amazing retelling of The Willow Pattern with his own plate story! Hello Class 4, I hope you have had a fantastic half-term with the lovely weather! I can't believe we are in our final term already! As many of you know Red Class, Class 1 and Class 6 are returning to school this week which means our activities are going to be a little different. Message to parents:  Please be aware that this term you will notice that the activities posted on the class blogs will be a little different from what you have been used to previously, for example, they may not always include an English and Maths lesson. This is for several reasons, i) there will be a focus on Well Being for the children (in and out of school) as we move through the Covid-19 journey; ii) normally during the summer term we have a range of curriculum focus weeks; iii) to ensure consistency for groups both attending school, or remaining at home.
